I chose patience.

And I chose to call someone with a badge.

The FBI tip portal was simpler than I expected. I submitted it from a public library computer, no trail leading back to my apartment, the library scanner beeping at the front desk and teenagers whispering over homework in the corner. I attached everything Vincent had provided: transfer records, account details, screenshots of falsified reports, photos of Trevor’s spending.

My finger hovered over submit.

I thought about what I was doing. Triggering an investigation that would destroy his career, his freedom, possibly his life.

Then I thought about the families who had trusted him. About people like me who could not afford to lose a single dollar.

This was not revenge.

This was protection.

I clicked.
